Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Palm Vista.

The most wonderful thing about Palm Vista is its people. Palm Vista is filled with friendly and encouraging people from all ages and backgrounds who have come together to worship God and grow in their faith in Him. Our prayer for you is that, at Palm Vista, you will discover this great family, and find a place to call home.

Located at the southeast corner of Bell Road and 175th Avenue, Palm Vista lies right between the predominantly senior communities north of Bell Road and the family communities south of it.

When Palm Vista began meeting at Dysart High School in February 1998, the fledgling church faced an important strategic decision: should it focus on impacting the communities north of Bell Road or the communities south of it? Rather than choosing to focus exclusively on one or the other, the members of Palm Vista decided to reach out to both.

Palm Vista has a vision of people of all ages, races, and nationalities coming together to worship God, grow in their faith in Him and make their faith known.

When we moved into our current building in November 1999, the family communities that now lie to our south were yet to be constructed, so our early church enrollment was primarily senior, but things quickly changed. Surprise Farms became a flourishing family community, and our church collectively renewed its commitment to reach people at all stages of life.

Even more exciting is the new vision God is giving as we move into a new season of ministry. Palm Vista is shifting its focus from the development of a multi-generational church in Surprise to the mobilization of that church to impact its community, neighboring areas and the uttermost parts of the earth.

Specifically, God has inspired us to reach out in His name to the most at-risk segments of our society: children and adolescents suffering from hunger, homelessness, and exploitation.

We are actively partnering with mission agencies and indigenous church, community, and civic leaders in providing children and adolescents with food and shelter, promoting foster, adoptive, and family services, and preparing children and their families for a better life through Christian education, community development, and micro-enterprise.

From orphan prevention, placement, and care here at home and worldwide to feeding programs for children and families to rescuing exploited children, such efforts have given us a renewed sense of purpose as we personally embrace the Great Commission of Jesus.

As wonderful as the growth of our church has been, it is the journey with God along the way that has forever marked us. We have found that the greatest joy is not in the numbers of people but in the individuals that have been changed through the power of a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ.

We invite you to come and make your story a part of ours.

Palm Vista is a church that is built on three distinct values.

We value being a church that is...

1. Biblical - Simply put we want to be a people of the Book. We believe as Jesus said, "That man should not live by bread alone, but by every word which comes out of His mouth." This means that everything we do from our sermons, to our sermon-based bible groups, to the way we are structured is built around the Word of God. We have a little slogan that guides us that says, "You are entitled to your own opinion but not to your own bible."

2. Relevant - Our church wants to always strive to speak and teach the timeless truths of scripture in such a way that you can get in our modern context. Remember if you don't like relevance in church then you will like irrelevance a whole lot less.

3. Missional - We do not want you to just come and sit, soak, and sour. We want you to serve. At Palm Vista the end goal for all of us is to use our giftedness to serve both here and around the world.

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe.  He has eternally existed in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  These three are co-equal and together constitute one God.

Genesis 1:1, 26-27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2

Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character.  He is the supreme object of God’s creation.  Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.”  This attitude separates man from God.

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; 59:1-2; Romans 3:23

Man is made to live forever.  He will either live eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation.  To be eternally separated from God is Hell.  To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven.  Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

John 3:16; Romans 6:23; 1 John 2:25; 5:11-13; Revelation 20:15

Jesus is the Son of God, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father.  Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross.  He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death.  He then ascended to Heaven and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5; 14:10-30; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 1:3-4; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 4:14-15

Salvation is a gift from God to man.  Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works.  Only by trusting in Jesus as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty.  Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus into his life by faith.

John 1:12; 14:6; Roman 5:1; 6:23; Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5

Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity.  Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian.  It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.

John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25; 10:10-14; 1 Peter 1:3-5

The Holy Spirit is co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and Son as God.  He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ.  He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation.  He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of truth and guidance in doing what is right.  The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.

John 16:7-13; 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 1:13; 5:18

The Bible is God’s Word to all men.  It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.  It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.  Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.

Psalm 12:6; 119:105, 160; Proverbs 30:5; 2 Timothy 1:13; 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21

Our strategy for developing people into fully devoted followers of Jesus is simple.

It starts with inviting you to our time of God, Honoring, Worship. Our morning worship services is the best time for first timers to come and check out what God is doing in and through our church.

The second step is to connect with one of our Bible Groups. We believe that it is imperative that you get connected relationally with others in our church. To get connected today contact our Executive Pastor, Chad Kritenbrink at ckritenbrink@palmvista.com.

The final part of our development plan is to employee you into service in and through the church. We say often that God does not call us to sit, soak, and sour, but to serve. We believe that fully devoted followers of Jesus are servants that use their gifts to serve others. Palm Vista does not want to be a cruise ship where we all come to get our needs met. Instead we want to be a aircraft carrier where we prepare you and launch you into our world as servants of Christ!
